Ken-ichiro Kamei

Associate professor

Principle Investigator

I’m an associate professor at Institute for Integrate Cell-Material Sciences (WPI-iCeMS), Kyoto University. My research interest is to recapitulate living systems into a micro-chip for contributing global healthcare as well as wildlife conservation. In particular, my research approach is based on a new methodological development that integrates micro/nanotechnology, materials science, stem cell biology, and imaging technology to create artificial cellular microenvironments for understanding the basic mechanisms regulating stem cell functions.
