人工細胞外微小環境による細胞制御
細胞外微小環境(可溶性因子、細胞外マトリックス(ECM)、および細胞間相互作用)は、細胞の運命決定・機能に重要な役割を果たします。従来の細胞培養技術では、細胞外微小環境を再現できず、細胞制御も限定的でした。そこで、正確かつ効果的に幹細胞を制御できるツールを開発する必要があります。
本グループは、細胞外微小環境を人工的に創出するために、マイクロ流体技術を用いています。このマイクロ流体技術は、従来の平面的な細胞培養培養・実験法と比較して、1) fLでの液体制御、2) ナノメートルスケールまでの立体的な空間制御、3) 試薬/サンプルの最小化、4) 実験手順、を可能にします。本グループでは、これらの優位性を活かし新規細胞培養・実験技術の研究・開発に取り組んでおり、得られる知見は細胞生物学だけでなく、創薬や再生医療の発展にも貢献できると期待しています。
